The MotoGP motorcycle world championship has had its official representation in video games since 2000, which in 2007 rested in the hands of the Italian studio Milestone. Since then, the developer has released successive installments of the series every year - with a few exceptions - and MotoGP 26, described here, is the sixteenth installment in the series of these racing productions.

Gameplay

The gameplay is realistic, but novice players can make it easier for themselves by enabling various assists - or by choosing the Arcade mode, which has been improved relative to MotoGP 25 (alternatively, there is a Pro mode for more advanced users). The physics have undergone a metamorphosis, increasing the impact of the riders' own movements on the handling of the machines.

DayOne: 8 / 10 by Győző Baki

While not as groundbreaking of an evolution as last year’s game, MotoGP 26 pretty much does everything right. It tweaks both the simulation and arcade riding styles, it adds more options to career and multiplayer modes alike, and offers plenty of content and customization options. It has a few technical issues that are atypical for this series, and it may still lack the incredible depth and variety of the licensed F1 games. Yet, MotoGP 26 is a fine step forward for an already excellent racer, even if its iterative nature makes it a less essential upgrade than last year’s game.

MotoGP 26 doesn't really feel like an improvement; instead, it feels like a base for something better. It's fun, sometimes amazing, and better in terms of how it works, but it's also uneven and missing some parts. For fans who have played before, there is enough here to keep them interested, especially after updates improve the game's features. Some people may see it as an old ride that hasn't yet reached its full potential.
